What does Legend Red smell like?
Montblanc added Legend Red to its Legend line in 2022 as an eau de parfum. The house describes it as a woody scent. It opens on bright citrus. Blood orange and grapefruit give a tart start, while cardamom stays shy in the background. The heart turns aromatic. Clary sage and juniper berries bring a herbal, gin-like freshness as cedar settles in. The base is drier than you might expect. Atlas cedar and mahogany form a fairly straight woody base, and tonka adds a quiet vanilla sweetness. Nothing is overly sugary. The 2011 Legend is a lavender-heavy fougère. Red is fruitier and woodier, and it feels more current. The bottle keeps the line’s shape, dressed in red. Longevity is average for an eau de parfum, around five or six hours.
When to wear it
A fresh woody for spring and autumn, day or night. Four sprays are not too many given its modest staying power.
