Our take
What does Narciso Poudrée smell like?
Narciso Rodriguez released Poudrée in 2016, two years after Narciso. Aurélien Guichard composed it and Raquel Zimmermann fronted the campaign. The nude cube bottle keeps the brand's clean lines. The twist is in the name. The powdery effect comes from musk rather than iris or violet, the brand's favourite material since For Her in 2003. The opening gathers jasmine, Bulgarian rose and orange blossom, laid down as a thin veil rather than a bouquet. Musk arrives quickly and takes over. It recalls a cashmere sweater or clean sheets, warm and slightly soapy. Coumarin, cedar, vetiver and patchouli fill the base. Together they add a woody frame that keeps the softness from going flat. Compared with Narciso, which leans more on gardenia and wood, Poudrée is tenderer and cleaner. It smells of skin, very well cared for skin.
When to wear it
Good for the office or a date from autumn to spring. Use three sprays, since you stop noticing musks on yourself quickly.
It belongs to the Floral, Woody, Musky family. Narciso Poudrée is one of 13 creations by Narciso Rodriguez in our encyclopedia.
