Our take
What does Luna smell like?
Luna joined the Les Belles de Nina family in 2016, composed by Christophe Raynaud and Marie Salamagne. The opening is tart, with wild berries, mandarin and a streak of lime. Orange blossom shows up early. The heart is more interesting than you'd expect. Pear sits next to a pale caramel and immortelle, a flower that smells of dry honey and faint curry and rarely appears in mainstream launches. Jasmine stays in the background. Licorice is what sets the base apart. It brings a dark, slightly aniseed note that cuts through the sugar. Vanilla, sandalwood and musk round everything off. For an eau de toilette aimed at a young audience, it is better built than most. It seems to have disappeared from most counters.
When to wear it
Spring and autumn, daytime or a night out with friends. Three sprays, since it lasts like the eau de toilette it is.
It belongs to the Oriental / Amber family. Luna is one of 26 creations by Nina Ricci in our encyclopedia.
