Our take
What does Mademoiselle Rochas Couture smell like?
Rochas released this take on Mademoiselle Rochas in 2019, two years after Anne Flipo composed the original. Juliette Karagueuzoglou signed the new one. It opens on freshly cut pear, still slightly green under the skin. Bergamot sharpens it and pink pepper adds a dry prickle that fades within minutes. The heart turns softer. Heliotrope leads with that almond and modelling-clay smell most people link to old powder compacts. Orange blossom warms it up. Lily of the valley stays in the back and brings a soapy, clean-laundry note. In the base, tonka and sandalwood make a creamy bed that white musk stretches across the skin. Nothing sticks out. This is a polished daytime floral that is easy to wear and never tries to surprise you.
When to wear it
Spring and mild autumn days, at the office or on weekends. Three sprays on neck and wrists, since it pulls in close fairly quickly.
It belongs to the Floral, Woody family. Mademoiselle Rochas Couture is one of 23 creations by Rochas in our encyclopedia.
