Our take
What does Love, Chloé smell like?
Love, Chloé came out in September 2010, composed by Louise Turner and Nathalie Gracia-Cetto. It gets forgotten now, but it was one of the most unapologetic powder perfumes of that decade. Orange blossom and pink pepper open briefly, more of a preamble than a statement. The heart is floral and springlike. Lilac, wisteria and hyacinth bring a slightly green freshness, and heliotrope slips in its almond smell. The base is what you remember. Iris, rice powder and a talc accord give the sense of an open compact on a dressing table. Musk softens it all. It recalls old lipstick, in the spirit of Frédéric Malle's Lipstick Rose, though more floral and less violet. Flankers followed in 2011 and 2013. Current production is unconfirmed.
When to wear it
Spring and autumn, at work or during the day. Two sprays will do: the powder settles fast.
It belongs to the Floral, Woody, Musky family. Love, Chloé is one of 12 creations by Chloé in our encyclopedia.
