Our take
What does Touch for Men smell like?
Burberry launched Touch for Men in 2000, and most sources credit Jean-Pierre Béthouart of Firmenich. It has stayed in the catalogue ever since, which says plenty about its loyal following. It starts on violet leaf, green and slightly metallic, joined by bitter artemisia and a quiet mandarin. The heart warms up gently with nutmeg and white pepper. Virginia cedar adds the smell of a freshly sharpened pencil. The base is very soft. White musk, tonka and vetiver form a clean, barely sweet skin scent that stays close to the body. Dior Fahrenheit shares that violet leaf, but Touch has none of its gasoline facet or its leather. This is the smell of a pressed shirt more than a statement. It appeals to men who want to smell good without anyone commenting on it.
When to wear it
An ideal office scent from March to November. Four sprays aren't too many, as it stays very close to the skin.
It belongs to the Woody, Aromatic family. Touch for Men is one of 20 creations by Burberry in our encyclopedia.
