Our take
What does Baby Touch smell like?
Burberry put out Baby Touch in 2002. It is an alcohol-free eau de toilette meant first for small children, and the house never named the perfumer. The opening is greener than you'd expect: mandarin, tart rhubarb, a mint leaf and lemon verbena. Nothing sweet yet. The heart then turns white with orange blossom, lily of the valley and cyclamen, while a light jasmine stays in the background. Think of a towel fresh out of the dryer. The base shifts the mood. A milk note, some moss and a polite vanilla give the baby-skin smell the brand was after. It loosely recalls classic colognes like 4711, with mint added and the alcohol taken out. Plenty of adults quietly adopted it because it never shouts. It has become hard to find in stores, and discount sellers are now the main source.
When to wear it
Spray it freely on clothes or hair, since overdoing it is almost impossible. Good for summer mornings and for skin that reacts to alcohol.
It belongs to the Floral, Musky family. Baby Touch is one of 20 creations by Burberry in our encyclopedia.
