Our take
What does Amor Amor Tentation smell like?
Cacharel launched Amor Amor Tentation in 2008, five years after the first Amor Amor. Honorine Blanc composed it while at Firmenich. It arrived together with a men's version, and it was meant as a more intense follow-up. The bottle keeps the original shape, tinted amethyst. The brand pitched it as a feminine alchemy of temptation, and it is indeed darker. Mandarin opens with a touch of green ivy that is more bitter than you'd expect. The heart pairs jasmine with Tahitian tiare flower. The tiare brings a creamy, almost sunny roundness. The base shifts register with Virginia cedar, vanilla and spicy notes. That gives a woody warmth that holds well on clothes. Amor Amor is all bright red fruit. Tentation is woodier and far less tart, closer to a cosy evening than a sunny afternoon. It's hard to find in shops these days, so most bottles now come from online stock.
When to wear it
