Our take
What does Catch Me smell like?
Cacharel released Catch...Me in 2012, with Dominique Ropion of IFF behind the formula. The house best known for watercolour florals was aiming for something more nocturnal. The opening still feels light. Juicy mandarin meets a slightly bitter petitgrain that smells like a crushed leaf. Then the mood shifts. Orange blossom moves to the front, softened by creamy almond milk that recalls marzipan and warm milk. A thread of jasmine runs behind it without taking over. The base settles on fairly simple amber and woody notes, more comfortable than deep. On skin the whole thing keeps a milky quality that sets it apart from the sugary orientals of the period. Next to Amor Amor, the house's other bestseller, Catch...Me is less fruity and more hushed. It lacks some shape in the drydown. The first hour is the best part.
When to wear it
Best in the evening or at weekends when the weather turns cool. Two sprays on a wool jumper make the almond note last longer.
It belongs to the Oriental / Amber, Woody family. Catch Me is one of 14 creations by Cacharel in our encyclopedia.
