What does La Vie est Belle en Rose smell like?
Lancôme released La Vie est Belle en Rose in 2019. This eau de toilette borrows the name of the 2012 best seller but leaves out its praline base. It opens on red berries, more crushed raspberry than jam. In the heart, a peony accord carries a fresh and slightly watery rose. The base is just sandalwood and musk. It stays quiet and clean, almost like fresh laundry. The brand credits two leading French perfumers without naming them. Next to the original eau de parfum, this one is much lighter and much less sweet. The iris and praline that defined the line are gone. It suits anyone who finds the original too heavy. The smile-shaped bottle matches the original, tinted pink. On skin, peony leads for about an hour before the musk takes over until evening. It is pleasant, but the musk could belong to any brand.
When to wear it
A daytime eau de toilette for spring and summer. You can use four or five sprays without overdoing it.
