What does Summer Festival smell like?
Since the 1990s Escada has released a limited-edition scent every summer. Summer Festival arrived on 1 March 2021 under Coty. The theme is a bohemian music festival, with a pink gradient bottle and hot pink lips on the glass. Amandine Clerc-Marie and Gabriela Chelariu of Firmenich wrote a short pyramid. A cherry blossom accord opens with a soft, slightly tart fruitiness. Green mandarin gives it some zip. The heart rests on jasmine petals, fresh rather than heady. The base is just sandalwood, creamy and quiet. This is the usual territory for the house’s summer editions: sunny and uncomplicated. Next to Marc Jacobs Daisy, another light floral, it comes across sweeter and less green. Like any limited edition, it quickly gets hard to find. Still, the cherry blossom opening is cheerful, and a bottle is easy to finish before autumn comes.
When to wear it
A daytime summer scent for picnics and open-air concerts. Spray freely, as longevity is modest.
