Our take
What does A Girl in Capri smell like?
Lanvin launched A Girl in Capri in June 2019, an eau de toilette built around a getaway to the Italian island. Sophie Labbé composed what the house calls a floral citrus musk. The opening is properly lemony. Primofiore lemon is picked early in the season. It smells more of green peel than juice, joined by bergamot and a pinch of pink pepper. The heart pairs grapefruit blossom with a sea spray accord. It brings to mind skin drying in the sun after a swim. The base stays light with driftwood and white musk, and no sugar or vanilla. Nothing about it is complicated. Next to Dolce & Gabbana's Light Blue, the Italian summer scent everyone knows, A Girl in Capri is saltier and less woody. It lasts three to four hours, so keep the bottle in your bag. The gentle price makes it an easy summer buy.
When to wear it
A beach and terrace scent for May through September. Spray your hair and T-shirt too so the sea spray lasts longer.
It belongs to the Citrus family. A Girl in Capri is one of 14 creations by Lanvin in our encyclopedia.
