What does Izia La Nuit smell like?
Sisley extended Izia, its 2017 rose floral, with a night version in 2021. The bottle was designed by the artist Bronislaw Krzysztof and wears a deep lacquer. The house did not name a perfumer. It opens on tart blackcurrant with mandarin and a cardamom that adds a cool spicy edge. The d'Ornano rose appears in the heart, the same one as in Izia. Here it comes with freesia and magnolia, brighter than you'd expect from an evening scent. The base earns the name. Ambroxan brings a salty woody glow, while patchouli and vanilla lay down a chypre floor. Izia is fresh and airy. La Nuit adds weight. Its rose and patchouli pairing recalls Frédéric Malle's Portrait of a Lady, though it is far more restrained. On skin it lasts well.
When to wear it
An autumn evening scent. Two sprays on the nape, and the ambroxan projects well.
