Our take
What does Eau Belle smell like?
Azzaro released Eau Belle in 1995, and the composition is usually credited to Nathalie Feisthauer. It is a citrus aromatic very much of its time, bright and unpretentious. Bergamot, mandarin and yuzu open together, with a fuzzy peach softening the acidity. The yuzu gives it a sharp zesty bite that mainstream perfumes rarely used back then. The heart stays airy. Cyclamen and freesia bring an almost watery freshness, while jasmine and peony hang back. Cedar and cypress form a green, woody base that a touch of honey and ambergris warms slightly. Sources disagree on the exact pyramid, and some also list coriander or mock orange. It seems hard to find in shops today and turns up mostly on the second-hand market.
When to wear it
A spring and summer scent for the office or a day in town. It fades fast, so spray freely and top up after lunch.
It belongs to the Citrus, Aromatic family. Eau Belle is one of 25 creations by Azzaro in our encyclopedia.
