Our take
What does Quatre en Rose smell like?
Quatre en Rose arrived in 2018 within Boucheron's Quatre line, which started in 2015 and takes its name from the jeweller's ring. Our sources don't officially credit a perfumer. The opening combines blackcurrant, mandarin and davana. This cousin of mugwort smells of dried fruit and liqueur. The start is juicy and a little boozy as a result. The heart is floral: rose absolute, jasmine and peach blossom. Peach adds a velvet touch without too much sugar. The base stays light with a clear patchouli, vetiver and musk. It's a well built fruity floral with few surprises. Davana is its one real signature. Next to Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet, Quatre en Rose is fruitier at the start and less powdery at the end. It wears more like a sunny day dress than an evening gown.
When to wear it
For spring and summer, during the day or at lunch. It lasts reasonably well without filling the room.
It belongs to the Floral, Fruity family. Quatre en Rose is one of 18 creations by Boucheron in our encyclopedia.
