Our take
What does Yes I Am Fabulous smell like?
Cacharel spun off Yes I Am in 2020 with this more gourmand version. Honorine Blanc kept the pyramid short and almost minimal. Blackberry goes first. It is dark and tart, closer to fruit picked from a hedge than to syrup. Heliotrope then takes over. This flower smells of almond and modelling clay, which softens the fruit noticeably. The base rests on a hazelnut milk accord, warm and milky. That is where the comfort comes from. It is a long way from the graphic elegance of Anaïs Anaïs, the house classic. Everything here is round and sweet. Against Black Opium, another milky gourmand, it smells less of coffee and more of fruit. Staying power is decent but nothing more. You need to enjoy dessert scents to get attached, yet the blackberry adds a little tartness that many rivals lack.
When to wear it
A weekend and casual evening scent, best in autumn. Two sprays on a sweater are enough to enjoy the milky base.
It belongs to the Oriental / Amber family. Yes I Am Fabulous is one of 14 creations by Cacharel in our encyclopedia.
